Here goes Chateau de Versailles...

This is where Marie Antoinette would play Milk Maid when she was a little girl...
I found the cutest puppy...and followed her around trying to take pics of her...

My bro advised I rent a bike since the grounds were as large as a small city would be (actually 1/4 of Paris)- more pics from my biking journey around Versailles...

Back to the palace...which is always undergoing repairs, construction, and grooming.
Inside...
Below...the "escape" door where Marie Antoinette fled when the palace was ambushed... she was caught and taken away to eventually be executed.
Rodin "the thinker" original on left
he was a pretty good painter too!
"the gates of hell" on left those sentenced to their deaths on right

where napoleon is buried today (left)

paris!

one of the places i stayed...the cheapest hostel i could find!
my top bunk (right)... the mattress was a little wider than my shoulders! my bunk mate was from finland and was practically living in the hostel.
hostel friends from japan, spain, australia, brazil, and...texas, u.s.a.!
nancy...one of my wise guides through paris...
my breakfast for 2 1/2 weeks... with toast and hot chocolat!
the pic of my parents in the 70s when ricky was a few years old and i was just born... i thought a lot about the span of a person's life on this trip. people vary because of cultures, yet when i saw babies and the elderly around paris, it seemed that life for the most part begins and ends pretty similiarly. it's what's in between that really tells the story. right now, i'm older than my parents were in this picture.
my friends through a friend. i recovered from contiki here...sleeping for hours, taking good drugs, and eating nice long french meals...just the way i like it. people in america eat way too fast, especially for me. ;)
my romanian/moldovian friend who treated me to some good fondue before i returned back home. :P
not the arc de triomphe
notre dame + a cloud
notre dame at night...while i was crossing a busy street
the eiffel tower...more parisian than paris itself
moulin rouge... what compelled me to show off a metro ticket? inside a cabaret show
inside paris hall...group of musicians from spain- this program was mesmerizing, beautiful, and fun
pompidou - the modern and contemporary art museum
the longer you froze in front of the camera, the clearer you would come out on the huge screen in front of you. this reminded me of back to the future when their images would start disappearing because their histories were becoming non-existent. i'm totally showing everyone my money belt! :) i don't particularly like this picture, but it represented my ongoing thoughts of being stuck in a timeline. i'm 30 right now and wonder what i'll be doing for the second half of my life... i'm sure some of you may understand and some of you youngins are like, "what? what are you talking about?" :D
sacre coeur
kristina and greg... one of the best surprises i had in paris
my graffiti ;) they weren't too proud of me!
we ran up hundreds of steps to the top of sacre coeur, whew-
montmartre...not! sorry, no pics of the artists we saw. this is near the heart of the latin quarter, off of mouffetard.
we laughed at this one
go to st.chappelle... the best stain glass you'll find
behind notre dame...and time to say goodbye :'(
demonstrators near st.michel
